2020 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings: Cam Newton signing shakes things up
By Randy Gurzi
There was a time when Aaron Rodgers was No. 1 on the power rankings and it felt like blasphemy to say anything else. Now, he comes in at No. 6 which is no insult by any means, but it also isn’t his fault that he’s slipped some in the past couple of seasons.
For whatever reason, the Green Bay Packers have struggled to find a secondary receiver opposite Davante Adams. Without that, Rodgers hasn’t been the same player. Still, he has the arm, the smarts, the mobility, and the killer instinct. He’s one of the best to ever play the game, even if his team drafted his potential replacement this season.
Entering the 2020 season, Drew Brees will be 41-years old. Even at that age, he’s coming off a season that saw him complete more than 64 percent of his passes, which is an insanely high rate. It was also the third season in a row that he led the league in completion percentage — and sixth overall.
One of the most accurate passers in the game, Brees is looking for at least one more Super Bowl ring before hanging it up, but even if he doesn’t get that, he’s going to be remembered as the best New Orleans Saints player of all-time and he’s in the top-10 to ever play the position.
