player. 31. Pick Analysis. New York Giants. QB. Daniel Jones. 22. Scouting Report

New York Giants general manager Dave Gettelman took a hit for drafting Daniel Jones at No. 6 overall last season but a year later, he looks to have found something. Jones started 12 games for the Giants as a rookie and had he started all 16, he likely would have topped Baker Mayfield’s record for rookie touchdown passes of 27. In Jones’ 13 games (with 12 starts) he had 3,027 yards and 24 touchdowns. Like most young players, he needs to reel in the turnovers but he did at least finish with twice as many touchdowns as he had picks (12).

Jones has done this without a great receiving cast around him. Golden Tate is a savvy veteran but the Giants could use someone else to step up around him. Perhaps Darius Slayton continues to develop and becomes the guy. If so, Jones could become even better than he was as a rookie.

21. player. Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Burrow. 56. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft was Joe Burrow, who is coming off arguably the greatest single season in NCAA history. The LSU starter goes from the Tigers to the Bengals as Cincinnati is hoping he can turn their struggling franchise around.

Burrow has yet to throw an NFL pass but his confidence, arm strength, and improvisational skills have him coming in with some lofty expectations. He’s also working with Zac Taylor, a former quarterback coach, meaning there’s even more hype that he can develop quickly.
