2021 NFL Draft: Steelers turn the page at quarterback in first-round mock draft

Washington is another team that needs to surround their young quarterbacks with the weapons he needs to have success. However, they have several ways to go on that one side of the ball as they hope to give Dwayne Haskins what he needs to make it in the NFL.
One option is to address the offensive line, which took a major hit this offseason when they traded Trent Williams to San Francisco. Of course, we all saw that move coming as Williams had been asking for a trade since last season but his loss is still not an easy one to replace — I mean, they didn’t really excel without him in 2019.
Another position they need to improve is at wide receiver. Terry McLaurin did a great job as a rookie and should be a long-term starter but he can’t do it all on his own. With that being the case, they could consider a No, 1 wideout here.
In the end, they go with the receiver as there’s hope former LSU tackle Saahdiq Charles could develop into a legit NFL left tackle. Assuming he looks decent as a rookie they decide to go for Jaylen Waddle out of Alabama to give Haskins a No. 1 threat.
Waddle is averaging 18.1 yards per catch and has 13 touchdowns in two seasons. With Henry Ruggs and Jerry Jeudy now in the NFL, he’s expected to become the No. 1 target and should see a huge uptick in his stats. That leads to him coming off the board really early here as Washington’s offense suddenly looks much more explosive.
