Predicting Dallas Cowboys 2020 depth chart: Defensive Line

Predicting the Dallas Cowboys defensive line depth chart in 2020
The Dallas Cowboys had a huge question mark with their defensive line entering the 2019 NFL season as their best pass rusher wasn’t under contract. DeMarcus Lawrence had just played on the franchise tag the prior campaign and was vocal about not wanting to do the same thing in 2019.
This led to a very public contract dispute and at one point, his agent even told him he should request a trade since the Cowboys weren’t budging on their salary demands. In the end, the two sides finally came to terms on a massive extension and Lawrence was under contract for the next five seasons.
He also finally had a great defensive end starting opposite him as Dallas was able to add Robert Quinn from the Miami Dolphins in a trade ahead of the season. Quinn took advantage of the attention Lawrence commanded and had a bit of a re-birth for himself.
Following a four-year stretch of single-digit sacks, Quinn finally hit the double-digits again as he led the Cowboys with 11.5 sacks. This led to him signing a five-year, $75 million contract with the Chicago Bears and left a hole at defensive end.
While Dallas might not have done enough to replace Quinn, they did at least add some beef to the defensive line in both free agency and the draft. In free agency, they landed both Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe. Then in the draft, they added Neville Gallimore and Bradlee Anae.
All those additions give Dallas plenty of options and we look at that here as we break down the Cowboys defensive line and predict their depth chart for the 2020 NFL Season.
