Dallas Cowboys reserve defensive tackles

Neville Gallimore

After adding the two veterans in free agency, the Cowboys could have stood pat at the defensive tackle position in the 2020 NFL Draft but they decided not to do that. That’s because they got themselves another steal when Neville Gallimore lasted until pick No. 82 in the third round.

A fun fact about Gallimore is that he grew up in Ontatio, Canada and was actually drafted in the CFL as well by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. However, there’s very little chance he will ever need to head north as the Oklahoma product looks the part of a long-term starter in the NFL.

The good news is, he won’t be rushed due to the presence of Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe, but he does give them some incredible depth. As does the fact that they’re bringing back their starting nose tackle from the past couple of seasons in Antwaun Woods.

Antwaun Woods

Undrafted out of USC, Woods was originally with the Tennessee Titans and was the prototypical nose tackle for Rod Marinelli. He was a guy who had an insane motor but was unexpected to have a huge impact in the NFL.

For Dallas, he proved to be a solid run defender, and having him as the reserve nose tackle means this line can go deep and remain competitive.
