1. Harrison Smith

Madden 21 rating: 95

The top rated player on both the Vikings defense and the team as a whole according to Madden 21 Is safety Harrison Smith, who will look to continue to lead Minnesota’s defensive unit in 2020.

Grabbing an overall rating of 95 on Madden, Smith ranked the best in the NFL among safeties throughout the league.

A five-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro safety who will be coming into his ninth season in the league and in purple and gold, Smith grabbed attribute ratings of 87 in speed, 91 in acceleration, 73 in strength, 92 in agility, 92 in awareness, 82 in catching ability, 82 in tackling, 85 in jumping ability, 95 in injury, 91 in stamina and 76 in toughness, to name just a few.

During the 2019 campaign, which was his eighth season in the NFL and resulted in his fifth straight Pro Bowl appearance, Smith finished the year appearing in 15 games for Minnesota. During the season, he tallied 85 combined tackles, four tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, three interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

On a defense that will have a decent amount of new and younger faces throughout it in 2020, Smith will look to anchor the Minnesota defense as he has so many times already during his career when the regular season officially kicks off.
