Deshaun Watson is underrated in Madden 21

Current Rating: 86 OVR | Suggested Rating: 93 OVR

Lo and behold, we have another quarterback who was slighted with their overall rating but, frankly, what they did to Deshaun Watson is far more egregious than with Jackson. The Texans signal-caller falls in as the eighth-highest ranked quarterback in Madden 21 behind aging players like Matt Ryan, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Drew Brees.

Yes, this is about how good players are now not about their long-term viability. But Watson has firmly established himself as one of the premier quarterbacks in the league already, not someone who should be a full seven overall points in the ratings behind Jackson and 11 points behind Russell Wilson. The ratings adjustors need to fix this one quickly.

Rob Gronkowski is overrated in Madden 21

Current Rating: 95 OVR | Suggested Rating: 89 OVR

When Rob Gronkowski was in his prime, having him rated as a 95 overall would’ve been considered a slight. But now 31 years old, coming off of a year out of the league and having struggled with his health prior to the season away, it’s hard to imagine out the people at EA Sports came up with this one.

It seems near impossible that Gronk will be the player of old both as a blocker and as a pass-catcher. Yes, especially working with Tom Brady in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense surrounded by weapons, the tight end will be a good player at the position. But to say that he’s one of the upper echelon players in the entire league at this stage of his career is highly unlikely.
