The New Orleans Saints have big questions to answer for the 2020 season.

After two straight years of disappointment, the 2020 NFL season is a huge year for the New Orleans Saints. The team is likely on their last leg of a possible Super Bowl run. While we don’t know much about the specifics of the upcoming NFL season, no doubt the Saints are ready to get back on the horse and try again. With a productive offseason thus far, the Saints are among one of the most promising teams in the league.

While it’s hard to move past the sting of disappointment, this 2020 season is crucial for the New Orleans Saints. With their window closing soon, there are a handful of questions to ponder. Whether it be about the team, certain players or positions, these five questions are just the tip of the iceberg. Either way, we can only hope they get a solid answer before the season ends. For the Saints, it’ll hopefully end in February but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Right now, it’s unclear if we’ll even have football as we’re hoping for. Nevertheless, we can still root for the Saints from the safety of our homes. Before the 2020 season kicks off, these are the five questions the Saints should answer before the season wraps up. Even if it’s not the answer we’re hoping for, the team could end up surprising us so let’s get into the five biggest questions for the 2020 New Orleans Saints.

5. Will we see a significant Drew Brees decline?

This first question is no on a lot of people’s minds. Many assumed Drew Brees would hang it up after last season. With their disappointing loss in the playoffs, Brees changed his mind and shared that he’d return for the 2020 season. Brees will be 41 years old, making him one of the oldest quarterbacks in the league. Obviously, that could create some problems for the Saints as a whole.

The major question is if we’ll see a significant decline in his performance due to his age? With his injury last season, we didn’t see enough. However, the track record isn’t good as we usually see a decline mid-season for him.

The same could happen this year as well or it could be worse. It’s a valid concern but one Brees has the chance to dispel early. Even if there is a decline, Bree is usually able to right the ship quickly so fingers crossed the trend continues into 2020.
