Packers find depth on the offensive line, in the secondary

One area where many people would expect to see the Packers upgrade on offense outside of wide receiver sooner rather than later is on the interior of the offensive line. They hit the lottery with Elgton Jenkins last year but it’s either Billy Turner or Lane Taylor starting opposite of him at guard. For the long haul in the Cheesehead state, that’s something that they need to change, which is why they should look at Deonte Brown.

The Alabama product is physically imposing and that shows up on the film. He loves to beat people up, especially in the run game. Brown is effective in pass protection, though he needs to develop some finesse in that area moving forward. Given what Matt LaFleur is seemingly trying to do with this offense, however, getting a mauler like this at the No. 83 pick could be just what he wants.

Assuming that Kevin King is able to take a step forward in 2020 — something that is not certain — the Packers should feel confident in their outside cornerback group with him and Jaire Alexander. With veteran Tramon Williams now gone, though, the depth and the nickel corner spot on the defense are something that has been called into question. Luckily, that’s the game of Elijah Molden.

Given his size limitations at 5-10, 191 pounds, Molden is likely a nickel-only type of prospect. But when you’re looking for football IQ and technique at the position, the Washington product has that in his arsenal. With his experience with the Huskies, he seems like he’d be able to come up to the NFL level and immediately step into that inside corner role and have success.
