Early 2021 NFL free agency rankings: George Kittle headlines top 70 players
By Samuel Teets
44. Dalvin Tomlinson, DT, New York Giants
A second-round pick from 2017, Tomlinson played an underrated role on New York’s defensive front during his first three seasons. According to PFF, Tomlinson was the highest-graded player on New York’s defense last season, surpassing Leonard Williams and rookie Dexter Lawrence. His 78.1 overall grade ranked 11th among all interior DL with at least 500 snaps.
Tomlinson also showed his consistency last year, earning a PFF grade over 78 for the third consecutive season. If he goes four-for-four by posting another high grade in 2020, the Giants should do everything they can to lock Tomlinson up for the long-term. He means a lot to the team’s defensive front.
43. Matt Feiler, RT, Pittsburgh Steelers
Feiler entered the NFL as an undrafted player in 2014. After spending some time in Houston, Feiler made his way onto Pittsburgh’s practice squad. Now, the Bloomsburg product is entering his third season as the team’s starting right tackle.
Last year, Feiler emerged as one of the best right tackles in the NFL. He and Carolina’s Taylor Moton comprise an interesting right tackle free agency class. After finishing his one-year, $3.259 million deal with the Steelers this year, Feiler should fetch a hefty price on the open market.
Philadelphia’s Lane Johnson leads all right tackles in annual salary, making $18 million a year. Feiler won’t challenge that mark, but he could sign a contract worth between $8-12 million annually. Feiler recently turned 28 years old.
