Jamal Adams has been traded to the Seahawks from the Jets. Grades for the deal.

After no deserved contract extension talks, a trade request and an interview blasting his head coach, All-Pro safety Jamal Adams has been traded, sending shockwaves throughout the NFL. On Saturday, the New York Jets agreed to send the 2018 first-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a ton of draft capital and a starter at safety, veteran Bradley McDougald.

With Adams’ interview with the New York Daily News that released on Friday ripping into New York head coach Adam Gase, it seemed like a matter of time before general manager Joe Douglas was going to have to make a deal happen — especially to get the value they wanted.

Looking at the totality of the deal, it’s hard to think that the Jets didn’t get what they were looking for doing business with Seattle and general manager John Schneider, via ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

For those of you keeping track at home, here’s what the deal actually looks like when you put everything with the proper teams and where everything is heading.

Throughout all of Adams’ requests for a trade and gripes with the organization, Douglas had remained steadfast that the Jets weren’t going to trade him unless they were blown away. Three top-100 draft picks over the next two years and a starting defender has to fit the bill in that regard.

This long-awaited Jamal Adams trade has been something we’ve all been anticipating but, now that it’s pending physicals, did everyone get what they wanted or needed? Let’s hand out grades to both the Seahawks and Jets for this deal to see how each team made out.
