Dallas Cowboys Starting Guards

The Cowboys interior offensive line will be undergoing some change with Travis Frederick gone but they will be returning their two primary starters at both guard positions.

Zack Martin

In 2014, the storyline leading up to the draft was all about Johnny Manziel and the Dallas Cowboys. Team owner Jerry Jones was calling it a fairytale when thinking of adding the Texas A&M star and they had an opportunity to do just that when they were on the clock at No. 16 overall.

However, the rest of the front office was against adding Manziel and that led to the Cowboys taking Zack Martin out of Notre Dame. It proved to be the right call as all Martin has done is make Pro Bowls and All-Pro teams every year since entering the NFL. As for Manziel, he lasted two years before spiraling out of control.

Martin is the Cowboys best offensive lineman and there’s an argument to be made that he’s the best guard in the NFL — or at least very close to it.

Connor Williams

A second-round pick out of Texas in 2018, Connor Williams moved from offensive tackle to left guard for Dallas and it’s been a bumpy ride. His transition took more time than expected during his rookie season and he has been slowed by injuries as well.

Still, Williams has shown improvement as he enters a very crucial third year with the Cowboys. There’s some talent behind him, so if he can’t rise to the occasion, he could find himself in trouble.

Dallas Cowboys Starting Center

Replacing Travis Frederick won’t be easy, but Dallas has more than enough options when it comes to the starting center. In the end, look for their newest Wisconsin product to take the baton.

Tyler Biadasz

Dallas traded up in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft for Tyler Biadasz and while he likely enters training camp behind Joe Looney, he should be able to win the starting job. He’s a smart player who understands his job and while his tape wasn’t great in 2019, he was dealing with some nagging injuries which no longer bother him. That will help as he fights for this spot.
