Going with all these rookies wasn’t intentional but the fact is, the Las Vegas Raiders added a lot of intriguing talent to their roster this offseason via the NFL Draft. In the third round, they owned back-to-back picks at No. 80 and No. 81. We already looked at Bryan Edwards who was the 81st pick. Now, we look at who they took right before that with Lynn Bowden, Jr.

Listed as a running back, Bowden is going to be a Swiss Army Knife for the Las Vegas offense. He lined up at wide receiver, running back, and quarterback for the Kentucky Wildcats and was able to do damage in each of those positions.

In his three seasons, he had 1,530 yards rushing with 13 touchdowns — with the majority of the damage being done in his final season when he scored all his rushing touchdowns and had 1,468 yards. Bowden added 114 catches for 1,303 yards and six scores. In this department, most of the work came in his sophomore campaign when he had 67 catches for 745 yards and five scores.

He also had 495 yards passing with three touchdowns and three picks, again with the majority of the damage all coming in one season as he had 74 of his 79 career passing attempts in 2019. Of course for Bowden, he was never really playing quarterback with the threat of throwing all over the defense, but he was great as a wildcat option.

Just for good measure, Bowden also proved to be a solid return man, averaging 22.1 yards on nine punt returns with two touchdowns. It’s easy to see how this kid will turn heads for the Raiders as he’s going to be all over the place and making plays from several positions.
