1. Henry Ruggs, III

No one was shocked when Las Vegas used their first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Henry Ruggs, III out of Alabama. They were dangerously thin at wide receiver and Ruggs played for Alabama — which is one of the schools Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock have said they love to look to in the draft. Plus he nearly broke the radar guns when running the 40-yard dash and we all know the Raiders still love speed even in the post-Al Davis Era.

While Ruggs wasn’t the No. 1 guy at Bama thanks to the presence of Jerry Jeudy, he did show enough to convince the Raiders he can be a No. 1 threat in the NFL. He not only displayed that blazing fast speed which was the highlight of the receiver’s drills at the combine, but he also has a massive catch-radius which is grossly underrated.

While at Alabama, Ruggs was able to pull in just about any pass, as long as it was within the range of his long arms. For his career, he had 1,716 yards on 98 receptions which was good for an average of 17.5 yards per catch.

Gruden loves a receiver that can hit a home run from anywhere on the field and that’s exactly what he has now in Henry Ruggs. That playmaking ability of his will stand out in Raiders’ camp as he will be the one who turns heads more than anyone else in the black and silver this summer.
