10 NFL youngsters ready to become stars in the 2020 season

4. Devin Bush Jr., LB, Pittsburgh Steelers
LSU’s Devin White and Michigan’s Bush were the only true linebackers selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Both went in the top ten selections. While White put on an impressive showing in Tampa Bay, tallying three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, two defensive touchdowns, and 91 tackles, Bush is in an even better position to become a star in 2020.
As a rookie, Bush recorded two interceptions, a forced fumble, four fumble recoveries, a defensive touchdown, and 109 tackles. He possesses 4.43 speed that falls slightly short of Ryan Shazier’s 4.36 40-time. However, Bush’s raw physical abilities make him the perfect piece at the heart of an elite Steelers defense.
In his second season, Bush must improve in pass coverage and finish a larger percentage of his tackles.
3. Jeffery Simmons, DT, Tennessee Titans
Simmons was a projected first-round pick in 2019 before he tore an ACL during a workout. Scouts believed Simmons possessed top-12 potential before going down. However, the injury didn’t deter Mike Vrabel and the Titans from selecting the Mississippi State product with the 19th overall pick. At the time, no one even knew if Simmons would play during his rookie season.
Fortunately, Simmons’ recovery went smoothly, and he got back on the field faster than anyone expected. He appeared in nine games, recording two sacks and 32 tackles during 314 defensive snaps. The Titans felt so confident in the young prodigy that they traded Jurrell Casey this offseason.
