10 NFL youngsters ready to become stars in the 2020 season

2. Dallas Goedert, TE, Philadelphia Eagles
If not for Pro Bowl teammate Zach Ertz, Goedert might already be a star. He’s one of the best blocking tight ends in the NFL and possesses a larger frame than George Kittle. At 6-5, 256 pounds, Goedert is a nightmare for defensive backs and linebackers alike. In 2019, Goedert made 58 receptions for 607 yards and five touchdowns.
NFL.com writer Marc Sessler recently included Goedert on a list of projected first-time Pro Bowlers. If Goedert ever becomes the lone feature tight end, his ceiling is the same level as Kittle’s.
1. Miles Sanders, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
Another Eagle takes the top spot. Sanders stole Jordan Howard’s starting job last year and never looked back. The Penn State product took a backseat to Josh Jacobs in conversations surrounding the two rookie running backs, but Sanders had a more successful year than Jacobs.
It took Jacobs 262 touches to reach 1,316 yards from scrimmage and seven total touchdowns. In comparison, Sanders amassed 1,327 yards from scrimmage and six total touchdowns on only 229 touches. With Howard gone, Sanders should see his touch total rise significantly in 2020.
Assistant head coach and running backs coach Duce Staley told the team’s official website on Friday that he’s excited for Sanders this season.
"I’m excited about Miles. I’m excited about him handling the full load. I don’t see Miles as a guy that you have to monitor his touches. I think you put him in, and you let him go."
Previously, Philadelphia used a running back-by-committee approach. However, the team seems captivated by Sanders’ potential as a lead back. If his rookie campaign is any indication, Sanders could become one of the NFL’s most versatile ball carriers. Philadelphia enters the 2020 season with Corey Clement and Boston Scott as the only other notable running backs on the roster.
