At Bears training camp, which players could turn heads and impress everyone?

Football is back! Well, it’s back, sort of. Training camp opened for the Chicago Bears and the rest of the NFL but fans cannot go down and watch it. Also, all preseason games are canceled so we won’t really see any football until Week 1 in September.

For the time being, we only have to go with what the team says. Whatever head coach Matt Nagy or general manager Ryan Pace says will be the gospel without seeing anything.

The team officials will tell us (hopefully) who is performing well or struggling. Position battles will go on without the fans’ participation. That makes training camp so much more important than ever before. We’ve seen players do well in camp but when the game lights turn on, they struggle. Because of that, some of those battles will run into the regular season.

In training camp, we also see some players who maximize their opportunities. They perform very well and open coaches’ eyes. They may be a player trying to make the roster or one trying to secure a backup role. Some do so well that they end up unseating the incumbent starters. Even if some don’t make the team, they make enough of an impression that other teams notice and scoop them up.

The Bears have a number of position battles going on so there will be some players who get a chance to impress. Also, with some players opting out of the 2020 season because of the COVID-19 pandemic, some positions are now open.

It’ll be interesting to see which players end up turning heads at camp. As camp progresses, we’ll hear about these players. They add excitement to an otherwise mundane preseason without games. Here are three of them who are candidates to do so.
