The NFL odds for the 2020 season offer some tasty dark horse bets to jump on.

We are getting closer to the 2020 NFL season. Professional football is now less than a month away from kicking off. And with that comes the vast array of betting lines, not just for individual games, but future bets for what the season has in store. When looking at the NFL odds, though, it’s hard not to look at the dark horse teams and players flying under the radar.

Just last season, the San Francisco 49ers surprised just about everyone. Coming off of a 3-13 record the previous year, the 49ers had +3600 odds to make the Super Bowl. Of course, they not only made it to the Big Game but led by double digits against the Chiefs, even if they lost the lead and succumbed to Kansas City.

Sleepers and dark horses break through every single season and they are the focus today. Eyeing the preseason NFL odds, these are 10 sleeper bets worth your consideration for the 2020 NFL season. (Note: All odds are courtesy of The Action Network consensus and FanDuel Sportsbook where noted.)

10. Kyler Murray to win MVP (+2396)

The reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year may have a spectacular sophomore campaign in store. After being the only quarterback to throw for 3,500 yards and rush for 500 yards in 2019, Kyler Murray has a new weapon in DeAndre Hopkins to distribute the ball to.

With his ability to run the ball as well as any quarterback in the league, a cannon right arm, the first full season with Kenyan Drake and a very good trio of receivers featuring Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk and the aforementioned Hopkins, Murray is a solid bet to make a run at league MVP, especially at those odds.

9. Carson Wentz to lead the NFL in passing yards (+2200)

Without his top two receivers for the vast majority of 2019 and relying on practice squad call-ups and rookies as his go-to targets, Carson Wentz finished ninth in the NFL in passing yards. DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery are both healthy and first-round draft pick Jalen Reagor should fit in this offense nicely.

Along with the receivers are dual-threat running back Miles Sanders and All-Pro tight end Zach Ertz. With all these rejuvenated weapons, Wentz has all the necessities to be at the top of the passing yards leaderboard.
