2. Right Guard

Another starting position lost this offseason was right guard as the Vikings released Josh Kline. With him out of the picture, there are a lot of players trying to prove they deserve the job with  Dakota Dozier and Aviante Collins as the top two picks.

However, Gary Kubiak was high on several of the guards who are trying to replace Josh Kline saying they’re deep not only with Dozier and Collins but also mentioned Dru Samia as he said he feels good about where they stand.

"“We’ve got a lot of good football players there. We’ve got to let them go compete,” Kubiak said via Eric Smith of the team’s official website. “Losing [2019 starting right guard] Josh [Kline] … naturally opens up a spot, but I don’t get too consumed with just a spot, you know what I mean? We feel good about our depth.”"

Smith also said second-round pick Ezra Cleveland is getting work at guard, which seems a bit surprising since he was not only a tackle at Boise State, but a really good one who seemed set for left tackle at the next level.

Ideally, the Vikings could continue to work Cleveland at tackle as the potential replacement for Riley Rieff, but if he does prove to be one of the five best on the team now, then getting him on the field could be the best move.
