Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers

Current ADP: 2.02

Don’t get me wrong — I am a big fan of Aaron Jones‘ abilities as a running back. He’s a dynamic runner with excellent vision, burst and an ability to turn nothing into something. That doesn’t mean I want to use a first- or second-round pick on him in 2020.

Like most of the guys on this list, there are factors that could significantly cut into his opportunities and production this upcoming season.

The first is the fact that the Packers now have two other capable running backs on the roster. Jamaal Williams has already eaten into his touches in the past, and now A.J. Dillon also enters the mix. For those of you unaware of the rookie back, just know this: he’s a battering ram who will undoubtedly hawk touchdowns in 2020.

The problem is that’s where much of Jones’ production came last season. He routinely was given the ball in short-yardage situations, and routinely turned them into six points. Don’t be surprised if those chances dry up this season with Dillon now in the mix.

If I were basing my draft preferences solely on talent, I’d advise everyone to aim for Jones. As you probably know, however, that’s not how fantasy football works. Jones will rack up yards and score some touchdowns in 2020, but not enough to warrant a pick around where he’s currently being drafted.
