Tennessee Titans stay put at 13

The Tennessee Titans are the defending AFC South champions, and they made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game last year where they were defeated by the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. In that game, Tennessee had the lead for a while and they were making it a tough game thanks to their strong running attack led by Derrick Henry, who was the No. 1 rusher in the NFL last year.

Henry was given a new contract this offseason (after a brief stint as a tagged player), as was Ryan Tannehill the quarterback who took over for Marcus Mariota near midseason. Mariota is now with the Las Vegas Raiders as the former No. 2 overall pick never really found the consistency he needed to find as a starting quarterback. Tennessee’s entire offense improved with Tannehill, even though his numbers weren’t exactly eye-popping.

Their offense wasn’t really what led them anyway. Tennessee has constantly fielded a stout defense lead by head coach Mike Vrabel who has a background on the defensive side of the ball as both a player and a coach.

Once again the Titans are expected to be able to go toe-to-toe with anyone on that side of the ball, and if Tannehill and Henry can continue the great run from a year ago, they could be a team to watch in the AFC.
