The New York Giants rise from 28 to 27

The New York Giants made some interesting hires this offseason. They brought in a new head coach in Joe Judge, who was the wide receiver coach with the New England Patriots the year prior. The questionable part was how Judge didn’t seem to be on any radars and the receivers in New England struggled in 2019.

Judge then hired Jason Garrett as the offensive coordinator and Freddie Kitchens as the tight ends coach. Garrett had 10 years as the Dallas Cowboys head coach and his team was highly criticized throughout his tenure for having a predictable and inefficient offense.

As for Kitchens, his run as a head coach with the Cleveland Browns will go down as one of the more colossal failures in that team’s history. Kitchens had a stacked roster but won just six games and lost not his own job in the process, but took general manager John Dorsey down with him.

Needless to say, there are going to be big questions in the Big Apple this season as the Giants look to get back on track. They do have some talent with Saquon Barkley, Daniel Jones, and Golden Tate on offense but overall, there’s a lot to be desired.

The same can be said of their defense. Players such as Dexter Lawrence and Jabrill Peppers have plenty of talent but they’re not exactly deep at any position and there’s not enough elite talent on either side of the ball to compete in the NFC East this season.
