Okay, fine — I’ll take a quarterback. My stance at the position is that I either want one of the top four (Mahomes, Jackson, Prescott, Murray) at the right value or I want to be the last person to fill the position. The latter happened here, which left me with a choice between Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford, both of whom I like as the 10th quarterback off the board in fantasy football.
Simply because of Stafford being injured last year and concerns about the Lions infrastructure, I went with Allen, who finished as QB6 last season. While Allen’s nine rushing touchdowns from last season may decline, the hope is that adding Stefon Diggs to the offense can help him become a more effective passer. In any case, his rushing ability gives him easy QB1 status this season.
Round 11
- Team 1 (11.01) – San Francisco D/ST
- Team 2 (11.02) – Baltimore D/ST
- Team 3 (11.03) – Tom Brady, QB, TB
- Team 4 (11.04) – Alexander Mattison, RB, MIN
- Team 5 (11.05) – Latavius Murray, RB, NO
- Team 6 (11.06) – Carson Wentz, QB, PHI
- Team 7 (11.07) – Diontae Johnson, WR, PIT
- Team 8 (11.08) – Ke’Shawn Vaughn, RB, TB
- Team 9 (11.09) – Matthew Stafford, QB, DET
- Team 10* (11.10) – Christian Kirk, WR, ARI
People are high on the Arizona Cardinals offense this season with the addition of DeAndre Hopkins and with Kyler Murray having a year under his belt. While that might help the actual offense, it does create an issue for fantasy football. There is a chance that there are too many mouths to feed for Hopkins to have the same value he did in Houston.
For Christian Kirk, however, I don’t feel the same. Kirk presents a different skill-set than Hopkins and Larry Fitzgerald with his ability to be a burner down the field in addition to winning underneath. He’s not a player I’m big on in PPR formats but, with big-play potential in what should be a good offense that throws a lot, Kirk has upside, especially as a Round 11 pick.
