Round 14

  • Team 10* (14.01) – Justin Tucker, K, BAL
  • Team 9 (14.02) – Kansas City D/ST
  • Team 8 (14.03) – LA Chargers D/ST
  • Team 7 (14.04) – Greg Zuerlein, K, DAL
  • Team 6 (14.05) – Wil Lutz, K, NO
  • Team 5 (14.06) – Younghoe Koo, K, ATL
  • Team 4 (14.07) – Zane Gonzalez, K, ARI
  • Team 3 (14.08) – Hayden Hurst, TE, ATL
  • Team 2 (14.09) – Matt Prater, K, DET
  • Team 1 (14.10) – Kaimi Fairbairn, K, HOU

It’s pretty widely accepted that Ravens kicker Justin Tucker is the best player at his position in the NFL — and it’s not really close at this point, either. Having said that, he was only the third-best kicker in fantasy football last season, which was more of a construct of Lamar Jackson and the offense being so efficient and willing to go for fourth-down attempts than it was a statement on Tucker’s ability.

Regardless, drafting Tucker — with one of your final two picks — gives you a sure-footed option that won’t be penalizing you for a ton of missed field goals and who always has the potential to knock a super-long field goal through. That’s all you can ever ask for at the position, so it’s nice to get the best kicker in the league here, even if he’s not necessarily the best fantasy kicker.

Round 15

  • Team 1 (15.01) – Alshon Jeffery, WR, PHI
  • Team 2 (15.02) – Sammy Watkins, WR, KC
  • Team 3 (15.03) – Philadelphia D/ST
  • Team 4 (15.04) – Sterling Shepard, WR, NYG
  • Team 5 (15.05) – Justin Jefferson, WR, MIN
  • Team 6 (15.06) – Robby Anderson, WR, CAR
  • Team 7 (15.07) – Chase Edmonds, RB, ARI
  • Team 8 (15.08) – Jake Elliott, K, PHI
  • Team 9 (15.09) – Dan Bailey, K, MIN
  • Team 10* (15.10) – Denver D/ST

It warms my heart to take a defense/special teams with the final pick of this fantasy football mock draft. Anyone who has heard me talk about roster construction and draft strategy before knows that I’m a champion of streaming defenses and not using valuable picks (before the last two selections) on a D/ST. So doing that here shouldn’t be a surprise.

While I would, again, recommend streaming your defenses, the Broncos defense is a good bet to always be solid. They have revamped the secondary with A.J. Bouye while adding Jurrell Casey to the front seven makes that group potentially lethal with Von Miller and Bradley Chubb. That has the potential for low scores allowed and creating turnovers, which is what you want to see.
