4 Players who have surprised at Dallas Cowboys camp

The Dallas Cowboys 2020 training camp is well underway and there has been no shortage of news coming out of Frisco. They’ve already had one shocking injury as they lost Gerald McCoy to a quadriceps tear, which ended his Dallas tenure before it even began.

There’s also been a position change but it wasn’t who we thought. After expecting to see Chidobe Awuzie move from cornerback to safety, the Cowboys actually ended up shifting rookie Reggie Robinson — their fourth-round pick from Tulsa — to the position.

What’s been most impressive though is how fond all the players are of the new regime under head coach Mike McCarthy. His arrival has been exactly what this franchise needed and it’s showing in their work thus far.

Speaking of the work they’re putting in, here we look at four players who have been pleasant surprises for Dallas.

The Usual Suspects for the Dallas Cowboys

Michael Gelhken had a great breakdown of everything that happened for the Cowboys on Friday and he pointed out some of the good work done by players such as Dak Prescott who has been in command all of camp. He also said DeMarcus Lawrence is having a “terrific camp” saying that holding him has been the only way to stop him.

No one is surprised by Prescott of Tank showing out in camp, that’s simply what they do. They’re each respected leaders on their side of the ball and are in the prime of their careers. However, there have been some other players who have stepped up and delivered more than expected so far in the Cowboys 2020 training camp.

Here we look at four such players, beginning with an undrafted free agent linebacker who is trying to fight his way onto the roster at a very competitive position.
