Five bold predictions for the Dallas Cowboys in an exciting 2020 NFL season.

The 2020 season for the Dallas Cowboys is one full of high expectations. That’s been the mantra for the front office for years but it’s been hard to buy into until this season for one reason — the coaching staff was a tough one to believe in.

For more than a decade, Jason Garrett was in charge of the roster and he preached consistency day in and day out. It’s hard to argue he wasn’t a great speaker who knew how to motivate his players. You would also be hard-pressed to find anyone who didn’t think he was a stand-up guy. However, his coaching left a lot to be desired.

Garrett’s consistent approach often led to complacency. His Cowboys teams never seemed to display any urgency as they always portrayed the “there’s always the next play” mentality. The head coach was also under fire for his lack of emotion and killer instinct, constantly clapping the sidelines with the same fervor no matter whether they had just turned the ball over or had a 75-yard touchdown drive.

Now in 2020, Garrett is in New York with the Giants as the offensive coordinator and former Super Bowl-winning head coach Mike McCarthy takes over. McCarthy has brought a breath of fresh air as he’s a guy who understands how important every play is. He’s seen his team win it all and he was part of the collapse in Green Bay that led to his dismissal in 2018.

McCarthy has learned from his success and failure as he enters this new chapter ready to make the most of his second chance. And fans are thrilled with him being the new voice for this proud franchise — finally feeling like they can buy into what’s being sold.

With all that being said, we look ahead to the 2020 season and make five bold predictions for the Dallas Cowboys.
