- Team 3 (6.10): D.J. Chark, WR, JAX
- Team 2 (6.11): A.J. Brown, WR, TEN
- Team 1* (6.12): Jared Goff, QB, LAR
Because of how precipitously the Rams dropped off, I doubt anyone would guess that Jared Goff still finished last season as the QB12 in fantasy football. Yet, because of that dropoff from previous years, many fantasy managers are staying away from him unless they are looking for a mid-tier QB2. While he is my second quarterback, he’s a fringe QB1 in my book.
For starters, I expect that Sean McVay and, in turn, Goff will figure out a bit of what went wrong on offense last season and get things more back on track. Goff threw only 22 touchdowns last season after averaging 30 per season over the previous two years. Even with just six more scores and the same rest of his production last year, he would’ve been QB10. As my second quarterback in a 2-QB league picked at 6.12, this is tremendous value.
Round 7
- Team 1* (7.01): Michael Gallup, WR, DAL
- Team 2 (7.02): Mark Ingram, RB, BAL
- Team 3 (7.03): Terry McLaurin, WR, WAS
- Team 4 (7.04): Jarvis Landry, WR, CLE
- Team 5 (7.05): Jonathan Taylor, RB, IND
- Team 6 (7.06): Kerryon Johnson, RB, DET
- Team 7 (7.07): Kareem Hunt, RB, CLE
- Team 8 (7.08): JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, PIT
- Team 9 (7.09): Kirk Cousins, QB, MIN
- Team 10 (7.10): J.K. Dobbins, RB, BAL
- Team 11 (7.11): Raheem Mostert, RB, SF
- Team 12 (7.12): Marlon Mack, RB, IND
Even among people who know that Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup enjoyed a good 2019 season, if you asked them to say where he finished in fantasy football scoring, I doubt many people would say that he finished as WR20 in overall scoring and WR12 on a per-game basis. But that’s the type of talent and production we’re talking about with the young wideout.
Some people might be wary of Gallup as CeeDee Lamb arrives in Dallas but count me out of that camp. Gallup not only has a clear rapport with Dak Prescott but I expect the training wheels to be off this offense with Mike McCarthy stepping in as head coach and there are also targets vacated by Randall Cobb and Jason Witten for Lamb to gobble up. In short, Gallup should be able to either match or better his numbers from last year in the 2020 season.
