One surprising cut each NFL team could make for 2020

Tennessee Titans: Malcolm Butler, Cornerback
A former Super Bowl savior, Malcolm Butler inked a five-year, $61 million deal with the Tennessee Titans ahead of the 2018 season. While he hasn’t been a bad player, by any means, there’s also no doubt he hasn’t really lived up to the expectations. He also enters 2020 as one of the highest-paid players on the Titans roster.
And while they would eat some of the dead money, they could save more than $5 million by making a move here. The arrival of Kristian Fulton makes a potential separation seem a little more likely as well.
Washington Football Team: Adrian Peterson, Running Back
Adrian Peterson has had a fantastic career and he proved all of the doubters wrong with his late-career resurgence with Washington. This came after failed attempts with the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals and he was an absolute blessing for Washington when they needed a running back.
Looking ahead to 2020, that need isn’t as great. Sure, Derrius Guice is gone (and needed to be) but they still are pretty crowded in the backfield with Antonio Gibson, Bryce Love, and Peyton Barber. In that group, Peterson could be the odd man out as they elect to go with the youth on the team.
Then again, he’s proven us wrong in the past so maybe this could be another chance for him to do exactly that.
