One surprising cut each NFL team could make for 2020

Dallas Cowboys: Dorance Armstrong, EDGE
After losing Gerald McCoy, the Dallas Cowboys now don’t really have a favorite “surprise” player to be cut. For some reason, Tyrone Crawford often has his name thrown out there and so has second-year defensive tackle Trysten Hill. However, with McCoy going down, both those defensive linemen will be needed this season.
What might not be needed is some of the depth they have at defensive end. The signing of Everson Griffen means Aldon Smith won’t be winning a starting job anytime soon. Still, he could be a good rotational rusher. As can Bradlee Anae, the fifth-round rookie who has turned heads at camp.
There’s also Joe Jackson and Crawford spends time on the edge in addition to working inside. That could be bad news for Dorance Armstrong who has gone from a potential draft steal to a forgotten man.
Denver Broncos: Jake Butt, Tight End
Luck has not been on the side of Jake Butt. The Denver Broncos tight end has suffered three torn ACLs. Because of that, he has recorded just eight receptions while playing in only three games since entering the NFL in 2017.
This year, he has a tough task in front of him in trying to make the team — even if he stays healthy. Noah Fant was a first-round pick last year and is the real deal. This season, they added Albert Okwuegbunam who was a favorite target of Drew Lock’s back at Missouri. That’s a solid group without even looking at Nick Vannett and Troy Fumagalli.
