Houston Texans: Kenny Stills, Wide Receiver

Kenny Stills is a good wide receiver but he’s stuck in a crowded room right now. The Houston Texans added a couple of talented wideouts in the offseason when they signed Randall Cobb and traded for Brandin Cooks. They also have a couple of other options in Will Fuller and Keke Coutee — of course, they also gave away DeAndre Hopkins but that doesn’t take away from the fact that there are a lot of mouths to feed.

For Stills, that could mean he’s all the way down to No. 4 on their depth chart and that could lead to him being on the way out, which is something Bill Barnwell predicted a while back on ESPN.

"“The Texans are now paying Stills $7 million to serve as the fourth wideout. None of that money is guaranteed, so they could either try to force Stills to take a pay cut, release him or find a trade partner for the 28-year-old.” — Barnwell, ESPN"

Parting with Still is still an option but it’s anyone’s guess at this point.

Indianapolis Colts: Jacoby Brissett, Quarterback

Entering the 2020 season, the Indianapolis Colts are set to pay Philip Rivers $25 million. That makes him the highest-paid player on their roster this season and right behind him is DeForest Buckner at just over $23 million. Then coming in third is the No. 2 quarterback Jacoby Brissett who will make $21.3 million this season.

That’s a lot of money to pay a backup especially when you throw in the fact that they drafted Jacob Eason to groom behind Rivers. At this point, Brissett seems to be the odd man out and paying someone $21 million to not play seems like a bad investment.
