Fantasy Football Mock Draft, 10-team PPR: Ekeler in Round 2
Round 10
- Team 10 (10.01): Phillip Lindsay, RB, DEN
- Team 9 (10.02): Tyler Higbee, TE, LAR
- Team 8 (10.03): Diontae Johnson, WR, PIT
- Team 7* (10.04): CeeDee Lamb, WR, DAL
- Team 6 (10.05): Marvin Jones Jr., WR, DET
- Team 5 (10.06): Latavius Murray, RB, NO
- Team 4 (10.07): Leonard Fournette, RB, TB
- Team 3 (10.08): Alexander Mattison, RB, MIN
- Team 2 (10.09): Kerryon Johnson, RB, DET
- Team 1 (10.10): Matt Breida, RB, MIA
One of the biggest reasons that you’ll see people not interested in CeeDee Lamb for fantasy football in the 2020 season is that there are so many mouths to feed in the Cowboys offense with Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup also in tow. That’s fair but we’re also talking about a first-round pick with immense talent that is also in a situation where there should still be plenty of touches for him to get.
Randall Cobb and Jason Witten leaving vacates 196 targets from the passing game last year. Furthermore, Dallas ran the ball with Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard 387 times last season, a number that’s likely to go down in favor of the pass. In doing so, there is enough volume to feed three great wide receivers, meaning Lamb should be able to get work. If that happens, he could be a monster right away in this offense.
Round 11
- Team 1 (11.01): Jamison Crowder, WR, NYJ
- Team 2 (11.02): Chase Edmonds, RB, ARI
- Team 3 (11.03): San Francisco D/ST
- Team 4 (11.04): Emmanuel Sanders, WR, NO
- Team 5 (11.05): Christian Kirk, WR, ARI
- Team 6 (11.06): Josh Allen, QB, BUF
- Team 7* (11.07): Henry Ruggs III, WR, LV
- Team 8 (11.08): Sterling Shepard, WR, NYG
- Team 9 (11.09): Sony Michel, RB, NE
- Team 10 (11.10): Carson Wentz, QB, PHI
The more fantasy football mock drafts I go through, the earlier Henry Ruggs III begins enticing me. Not only is he a speedster with sub-4.3 speed, meaning he has the potential to break any play off for a huge gain but the Raiders first-round pick is in line to play a massive role in the passing offense.
With Tyrell Williams starting the season on IR, Ruggs is the de factor No. 1 wide receiver on this offense. And while some people are scared off by the fact that Derek Carr doesn’t throw deep down the field, that’s not all Ruggs is good at. He’s an elite player in the short and intermediate areas who then creates yards after the catch. If there are few growing pains entering the NFL, getting him in Round 11 could be an absolute steal.
