There are undoubtedly stable elements of the roster I came away with in this fantasy football mock draft. Dak Prescott should be a top-five lock at the quarterback position, Austin Ekeler should be a PPR monster with checkdown-hero Tyrod Taylor in LA and Kenny Golladay is primed for a monster year if Matthew Stafford can stay healthy — and Tyler Lockett is a safe pick as well.
Where this lineup differentiates from many others that I’ve drafted is that it’s one where I clearly leaned into risks in a ton of different areas. While I believe Edwards-Helaire is a money play this year in fantasy, he’s a rookie with no preseason ramp-up. That could mean he struggles to live up to Round 1 value.
When you then factor in the health of Todd Gurley and Evan Engram, Stefon Diggs playing with inconsistent Josh Allen, some dart-throw wide receivers on the bench and two running backs that could hit but aren’t necessarily sure things (though you may beg to differ with Tarik Cohen with this being a PPR league), there is downside here.
In a 10-team league, though, I’m willing to take those risks. Rosters are going to be filled with more high-end talent the smaller a league is, which means you need to mine value by hitting on home run swings. Taking that mindset into account, if things even hit for 50 percent of the risks taken here, this roster has league-winning potential.
