Indianapolis Colts: LB Darius Leonard

The Indianapolis Colts found an absolute gem in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft as Darius Leonard was named First-Team All-Pro in his rookie season. He followed up that incredible campaign with a Pro Bowl-caliber season in 2019, though he missed three games with injury. When healthy, Leonard is perhaps the best linebacker in the AFC South and one of the best in the NFL.

The focus of the offseason was the Colts adding veteran quarterback Philip Rivers and trading for Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner but the engine that makes the team go is Leonard.

He is the vocal leader in the middle of that defense and the team as a whole as one of the captains. Leonard’s ability to make plays in space makes him that special breed of linebacker that can stay on the field for every defensive situation.

The former South Carolina State Bulldog is a tackling machine but he is also a ballhawk, recording a career-high five interceptions in 2019. Leonard is the heart and soul of the Colts and he will only continue to get better as his career progresses.
