Philadelphia Eagles: QB Carson Wentz

Carson Wentz is perhaps the most unfairly maligned player in the NFL as his reputation took another hit as once again, he wasn’t healthy to finish a season for the Philadelphia Eagles. Wentz was knocked out of the Eagles’ playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks, but it was almost a miracle that they advanced to the postseason in the first place.

By the end of the season, Wentz had lost all three of his starting receivers from Week 1 and was literally throwing to guys just activated off of the practice squad. He still managed to throw for 4,039 yards and 27 touchdowns and just seven interceptions as he led the Eagles to an improbable NFC East title.

The same story appears to be in the works as the Eagles have already caught the injury bug but if Wentz can play all 16 games for just the third time in his career, they will have a shot at the division and a playoff berth. Philadelphia fans may have doubts about Wentz’s long-term health but there should be little doubt about his talent and ability to do more with less.
