New Orleans Saints: WR Michael Thomas

We extolled the virtues of Julio Jones in a previous slide but, in Michael Thomas, we may have his heir apparent in terms of sheer consistency. He may not be as explosive a downfield threat as Jones, but Thomas now has four straight 1,000=yard seasons to start his career and has increased his catch and yardage total every year.

Thomas put up an absurd 1,725 yards on 149 catches and scored 9 touchdowns for a Saints team that featured one of the best passing offenses in the league. He accounted for nearly 40% of the team’s total receiving yards and 35 percent of their total receptions.

The quarterback throwing him these passes may be a key figure but there are few skill position players more vital to their offense than Thomas.

New Orleans is coming off yet another postseason disappointment but if they are to finally break through to the Super Bowl in the current era, Michael Thomas will be a big reason why.
