New York Jets: QB Sam Darnold

The New York Jets are one of the least talented teams in the NFL and they will once again ask young quarterback Sam Darnold to do more with less.

Darnold had a difficult 2019 after missing time with mononucleosis and struggling with interceptions but bounced back with a 6-2 finish to the season though many of those wins were against some of the worst teams in the NFL.

If the Jets are to contend for the AFC East or for one of the wildcard spots they will need Sam Darnold to take that leap and justify his high draft position. He has some new weapons to work with in Breshad Perriman and Denzel Mims and the Jets invested heavily in the offensive line after giving up an abysmal 52 sacks last season.

The Jets believe in Darnold as the quarterback of the present and future and if he can continue improving then they have good reason to believe that he can help make up for a defense that is suddenly devoid of stars.
