1. Annual dominance at home will set tone in favorable schedule

One thing that has been a common occurrence annually for Minnesota over the last few years has been its dominance at home and the ability to create a tough task for any opposing team to win when it comes to US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Although the 2020 season might be a bit different at least right away when it comes to a lack of fans in the stands, the Vikings will be able to continue to be tough to beat at home and that will set the tone for the rest of the regular season while they return to the playoffs and make a run at a Super Bowl appearance.

Now entering its fifth season at its home of US Bank Stadium, Minnesota has gone 23-9 overall in regular-season games during that span and won its lone playoff game there in 2018 (you may have heard of the Minneapolis Miracle taking place during that game).

A season ago, the Vikings finished the eight-game regular-season slate at home with a record of 6-2 overall, building off of a 2018 season where they went 5-3 at home, a 2017 campaign where they finished 7-1 at home and a 2016 season where they went 5-3 in front of their home crowd.

That success on their home field will play into the favor of the Vikings once again in 2020 and will be a trend-setter for the remainder of the season leading into the playoffs.

Minnesota also has the upper hand of a limited amount of primetime games, which it has struggled in for what has seemed like at least a handful of years. Most of the Vikings’ games will be taking place around lunchtime in 2020, and they also won’t have to deal with some cold-weather games in the second half of the year like they often have in past years while playing in the NFC North.

With the array of talent, annual success at home and a somewhat favorable regular-season schedule, Minnesota is hoping that leads to a large amount of success both in the regular season, early in the playoffs and ultimately en route to a Super Bowl appearance this year.
