4. CeeDee Lamb, Wide Receiver

When the Dallas Cowboys were on the clock at No. 17, they pulled the trigger on a huge selection. Rather than taking a defensive player who would have fit a need better, they elected to go with Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Immediately, this move was compared to the 1998 NFL Draft when Dallas elected to pass on wide receiver Randy Moss for Greg Ellis, the defensive end that better fit their team needs. While Ellis was a fine player, Moss was a Hall of Famer and frequently destroyed the Cowboys on the field.

There will be no repeat of that as Dallas landed the star wideout this time around and so far, Lamb looks to be the real deal. He’s been hard at work in training camp, making jaw-dropping catches on a near-daily basis. And in Week 1, the Cowboys are going to be relying on him to provide a spark.

Sure, they have Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup as well as Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard in the ground game but those are all known commodities. Those will be the players expected to make their mark whereas the defense is going to make Lamb prove he belongs in the NFL.

With attention focused on the other weapons, Dallas will need Lamb to come up big as one of their top X-factors in this one.
