2. Los Angeles Chargers vs. Cincinnati Bengals

In all likelihood, the Los Angeles Chargers nor the Cincinnati Bengals will be playing in the postseason this year. However, that doesn’t mean their Week 1 matchup doesn’t have the potential to be great. And the biggest storyline that should excite fans is the matchup between the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 draft, Joe Burrow, and the quality LA defense.

Even with Derwin James lost for the season due to injury, the Chargers might have the best secondary in the NFL. After adding Chris Harris Jr. this offseason, LA has three high-end cornerbacks on the roster with him, Desmond King and Casey Heyward. The Bolts also have young safety Nasir Adderley, who they hope can come in and replace at least some or most of what James brings from a versatility standpoint.

That’s what Burrow will be facing and everyone wants to see what the new Bengals franchise quarterback has to offer after an all-time great college football season. At LSU in 2019, Burrow threw for 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns and only six picks en route to leading his team to win a National Championship. Cincinnati’s roster isn’t complete but one thing they do have is weapons around the young quarterback.

A.J. Green is back after missing all of last season and is paired with Tyler Boyd, who finished as a 1,000-yard receiver last year. Auden Tate, John Ross and rookie Tee Higgins fill out the rest of the group at wideout while Joe Mixon, fresh off a new extension, is in the backfield.

Seeing what Burrow does, especially against the Chargers secondary, in his NFL debut will be worth fans tuning into on Sunday.
