Green Bay Packers bold prediction No. 4: Marquez Valdes-Scantling finishes second on the team in receiving yards

There’s been nothing but positive feedback surrounding Marquez Valdes-Scantling during training camp this year, which is good considering the third-year receiver is entering a pivotal year in his career.

The Packers didn’t draft a receiver this past offseason, in what was considered one of the deepest drafts at the position in years. Clearly Green Bay thinks highly of Valdes-Scantling and others on the current roster, which is a big reason they likely didn’t select a receiver.

It also doesn’t hurt that Valdes-Scantling had one of the best training camps of any offensive player on the Packers’ roster. Day after day, Valdes-Scantling was a standout according to multiple reports. It wasn’t just the media who took notice, either.

Aaron Rodgers said a few weeks ago that the receiver he’s been “most impressed with” during camp was Valdes-Scantling. Rodgers made a point to go out of his way and praise Valdes-Scantling for his work ethic and confidence.

If Valdes-Scantling can finally match the talent with production, the Packers will add a whole new dynamic to their passing game. The speedy wideout can stretch the field while also getting other receivers open in the process.
