The Atlanta Falcons’ studs and duds from their Week 1 loss to the Seahawks.

The Atlanta Falcons entered the 2020 NFL season with the hopes of kicking off the year on the right foot while trying to reach the postseason for the first time since 2017.

Right out of the gate in the season-opening contest on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta, the Falcons would have a tough test in trying to accomplish that when they welcomed the Seattle Seahawks into Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Featuring two high-powered offenses in the game, Seattle ended up getting the last laugh in the Week 1 matchup, taking down Atlanta 38-25 on Sunday afternoon.

In the game, the Seahawks got on the board early and were able to hold off the Falcons for a remainder of the game despite Atlanta’s attempt at a comeback to end each half of the NFC showdown.

Seattle opened the game up by outscoring Atlanta 14-3, but the Falcons battled back into things right before halftime with a 9-0 advantage to bring the Seahawks’ lead to 14-12 going into the break.

In the second half, Seattle once again opened a half with a hot start, going on to outscore Atlanta in 24-13 in the final two quarters to pick up the road victory over the Falcons.

With the loss, Atlanta drops its first game of the new season for the second straight year, falling behind in the NFC right away while moving to 0-1 on the year. In the victory, Seattle improves to 1-0 and gets the upper hand on the rest of its division and conference going into the second week of action.

The Falcons will return to action in Week 2 when they travel to face off against the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday afternoon in Dallas. The Seahawks will return home for the second week of games, hosting the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football from Seattle.

Now with the season-opening contest in the books for Atlanta and Seattle, let’s go back and pick out three studs and duds for the Falcons in the game.
