2. Cameron Brate, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

O.J. Howard is the name Dallas Cowboys fans want, but the Tampa Bay buccaneers are not trading the former first-round pick out of Alabama. On Sunday, we saw how important Howard was to their offense as he had four receptions on six targets for 36 yards and a touchdown.

That had him tied for the second-most targets on the team, and third most yardage. It was proof that Tom Brady is going to lean heavily on the young tight end, who will probably finally reach his full potential with the new quarterback on the Bucs this season.

Tampa Bay also has Rob Gronkowski, who has a long history with Brady. Gronk didn’t do a lot in his debut, catching just two passes for 11 yards, but he did get more looks than a forgotten tight end on their roster, Cameron Brate.

In Week 1, Brate had only one pass go his way and he finished without a reception. He’s fallen far in recent seasons as he looked poised to be a star following his six-year, $40.8 million extension that he signed in 2018. Since then, his numbers have dropped in just about every category.

For that reason, Tampa Bay might be willing to part with Brate. If Dallas is okay with the contract (which could be a concern) , they could probably get him for a day three draft pick. Should they pull the trigger on such a deal, he would instantly be their No. 1 tight end.
