What should the Minnesota Vikings be concerned about after a Week 1 loss?

The Minnesota Vikings came into Sunday’s Week 1 matchup against the Green Bay Packers with the hopes of kicking off the year on a hot start while taking down a division rival right out of the gate.

After the conclusion of the season opener at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, however, that wasn’t the case for the Vikings and they exited the Week 1 defeat perhaps with more questions that they entered with.

On its home field Sunday afternoon, Minnesota fell to Green Bay, 43-34, to drop the season opener in an important early-season game against an NFC North opponent.

Basically from the opening kick off, the Packers had their way with the Vikings and it just looked like Minnesota wasn’t able to find its footing in the first action of the 2020 season.

In the game, the Vikings struggled early and often, falling behind the Packers right away in the first quarter while not being able to catch back up in the final three quarters despite a late-game comeback attempt.

Minnesota did manage to open the game up with a 7-3 lead, but Green Bay turned things on shortly after to run away with the game. The Packers scored 19 points in the second quarter compared to the Vikings’ three to grab a 22-10 lead going into halftime and not look back.

In the second half, Minnesota did all it could to try and make a comeback, but Green Bay didn’t let up. The Packers ultimately held off the Vikings while looking like a far superior team, dropping nearly 50 points on the road and take down Minnesota.

With the Week 1 result, the Vikings take an early-season blow in the NFC North division, falling to 0-1 and allowing the Packers to gain a one-game advantage on the purple and gold to sit atop the division at 1-0.

Minnesota will get another tough test when it hits the road in Week 2, traveling to face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis.

Before the Vikings begin preparations for the second week of the regular season, here are three of the biggest concerns from the season-opening loss to the Packers.
