NFL Power Rankings, Week 2: Cowboys falter, Ravens shine
By Randy Gurzi
The first weekend is in the books, so it’s 2020 NFL Power Rankings time.
For a while, it didn’t feel like we were going to have football in 2020, but thankfully things have worked out to where the 2020 NFL season has gotten underway.
Things kicked off with a Thursday Night Football showdown between the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans. The Chiefs were dominant in that one and put the NFL on notice. They’re not only the world champs, but they might be better this season.
Of course, there could be challengers to the throne with teams such as the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens scoring statement wins. For New Orleans, they took it to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which could quiet some of the Tom Brady hype — at least for the time being. In Baltimore, the defending MVP had himself a great game as Lamar Jackson made it look easy against the Cleveland Browns.
There were also some upsets, such as the Washington Football Team knocking off the Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals taking it to the San Francisco 49ers. For Washington, it ended up putting them alone in first place as of Monday morning since they defeated the Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys laid an egg on Sunday Night Football.
In that one, the team that was supposed to have a high-powered offense managed just 17 points as they lost by three to the Los Angeles Rams. Dak Prescott is searching for a huge contract but did himself no favors as he threw nothing but short passes all night as the offense looked unprepared and outmatched.
With all those moves in the books, we check in now on our Week 2 edition of the 2020 NFL Power Rankings.
