Denver Broncos (0-0): Plays on Monday Night Football vs. Tennessee Titans

For the second season in a row, the Denver Broncos find themselves without one of their premier edge rushers. Last season, it was Bradley Chubb who had just come off a strong rookie season in 2018. This season, it will be the veteran Von Miller, who suffered a season-ending injury right before the start of the year.

While there’s nothing good about losing a star player ever, there is one thing that could help the Broncos remain competitive without Miller — their offense. In recent seasons, the offense in Denver has been a mess. Even when they won their last Super Bowl following the 2015 season, Peyton Manning was a shell of his former self as the Broncos D — led by Miller — carried them to a title.

Now, they finally seem to have an offense that can contend. Drew Lock came on strong as the season ended. Then in the offseason, they added Jerry Jeudy, K.J. Hamler, Melvin Gordon, and Albert Okwuegbunam to an offense that already had Courtland Sutton, Noah Fant, and Phillip Lindsay.

They’re going to have to lean heavily on that side of the ball with the injury suffered by Miller but the good news is, they have the weapons to keep this from being a lost season.
