20. team. 28. . . Previous: 21st. Las Vegas Raiders

There are a couple of debuts going on as the Raiders traveled to Carolina to play the Panthers. It was the first game for Matt Rhule coaching the Panthers, but for the road team, it was their first time being known as the Las Vegas Raiders.

For Vegas, and if it ended up being a good debut. Second-year running back Josh Jacobs led them to a 34-30 victory over the Carolina Panthers, as Jacobs had 93 yards rushing and three touchdowns — including what proved to be the game-winner with just over four minutes to go. Quarterback Derek Carr was efficient as well, completed 22 of 30 passes for 239 yards of the touchdown, and no interceptions.

The Raiders did survive a scare too, as rookie receiver Henry Ruggs suffered an ankle injury during the game. Afterward, they did say that the injury wasn’t serious, which means he shouldn’t miss much time if any at all. Ruggs had a good day before getting hurt, gaining 55 yards on just three receptions, which ended up still leading the team.

Vegas is a team to watch for as the Jon Gruden overhaul is starting to trend in the right direction it would seem.
