New York Jets. 32. team. 30. . . Previous: 30th

The New York Jets had some positive momentum to build on from a season ago. While they did finish 7-9 overall, they were 7-6 with Sam Darnold as the starter which meant they were at least competitive when they did have their starting quarterback. However, in Week 1, that wasn’t the case.

New York ended up losing to the Buffalo Bills in their first game of the season and it wasn’t even as close as the 27-17 score would indicate — and even that doesn’t make it look really close. The Jets let Josh Allen throw it all over them as he was 33-of-46 for 312 yards with two touchdowns and no picks. He did fumble it twice — one of which was recovered by the Jets — but they couldn’t do anything with those.

Not only that, but their own offense was anemic. Le’Veon Bell continues to be a disappointment after gaining 14 yards on six carries. He was outgained by Frank Gore — who was in his 30s when Bell was born. The veteran ended up with 24 yards on six carries.

If there was a silver lining, it was Jamison Crowder who had 115 yards and a touchdown on the day but outside of that, there wasn’t a whole lot to get excited about.
