29. team. 53. . . Previous: 14th. Cleveland Browns

After another offseason full of hope for the Cleveland Browns, they once again came out and looked absolutely flat. Much like in the 2019 opener, which was the debut for head coach Freddie Kitchens, Cleveland was embarrassed this weekend as head coach Kevin Stefanski was handed a huge loss in his debut.

What was unfortunate for the Browns was that nothing went their way. They had errors in all three phases of the game. On special teams that included penalties, missed kicks, and a horrible fake punt attempt early on. As for offense, there were turnovers — including a pick on the opening drive — and dropped passes. Defensively, they also had failed assignments, leaving Baltimore receivers wide open far too often.

Having said all that, a staff overhaul in 2020 is no easy task. Cleveland had no time to work their system in and the injuries on defense put them at a huge disadvantage while having to face one of the best teams in the NFL.

Still, it was an alarming game. There was nothing competitive about this team as Odell Beckham Jr. looks like a shell of himself and Baker Mayfield has done nothing to silence his critics. This was about as bad of a start as this team could have had.
