New York Giants (0-0): Plays on Monday Night Football vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

The New York Giants had a rough stretch under Pat Shurmur. In two seasons, the head coach led them to a 9-23 mark, which was the exact same record he had in 2011 and 2012 with the Cleveland Browns as their head coach. The lack of success for Shurmur made his departure less than surprising, but the direction they went afterward was.

New York ended up going with Joe Judge, who had been an assistant with the New England Patriots — but he wasn’t really one who was on the radar as a potential head coaching candidate. Judge did bring in some experienced help, but that too is questionable as he hired Jason Garrett to run the offense and Freddie Kitchens to coach tight ends. Each fell short with talented rosters, with Kitchens being a disaster in his lone season as a coach.

Having said all that, everyone is winless entering Week 1 and the Giants can start to build some confidence if they could get a win in the first of two Monday Night Football games as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

A win would put them in great shape to start the season whereas a loss would be, well, what everyone is expecting.
