1. Defense

One of the glaring weaknesses on the Falcons last year and going into the 2020 season was their defense and the lack of improvement that has taken place on that end of the field to allow their high-powered offense to take the game over week-in and week-out.

In the season opener last Sunday against Seattle, that was a weakness once again as Atlanta couldn’t do enough to hold the Seahawks offense in check to be able to come out on top in the game.

When it came to what the Seahawks were able to do on offense, they were able to do just about anything through the air in the passing attack, although the Falcons did do a relatively decent job at limiting the running game.

Through the air, Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson led the charge of the offense by throwing for a total of 322 yards and four touchdowns through the air. He ended up throwing the ball a total of 35 times, completing 32 of those pass attempts.

Seattle’s receiving group had five players haul in three or more receptions, with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett nearly surpassing the 100-yard receiving mark.

In the ground game, the Falcons did hold the Seahawks to just 84 combined yards on the ground, 29 of which came from Wilson under center.

Along with the success Seattle had on offense and the freedom it had to throw all over the field, Atlanta failed to get any interceptions in the contest or put any pressure on the Seahawks, allowing them to end up recording nearly 40 points in the contest.
